Hit the Deck!

It's harder and more expensive than it looks.

I enslaved my poor Dad to help mix the cement for the posts.  There is about 500-600 pounds of cement in my back yard pictured above.  Notice the orange strings like in the "how to build a deck" book.
 

Joists in place.  Over 160 nails.
 

The drills overheated and it was about to rain before we could screw the last 6 boards down.
 

Pretty much done.  Over 420 screws...  I sawed that side off with the circular saw.  We mounted a temporary guid board to get it straight.  It worked out well.

Not without it's hazzards.  1. Hit hand with hammer while driving in stake.  2.  Deep splinter from handling board.  3.  Slip with drill while screwing in decking, drilled a hole in myself.
